STONE TEMPLE PILOTS Drummer Interviewed On 93.7 KCLB Rocks! (Audio)

October 26, 2010

On October 22, Kevin Conklin of the 93.7 KCLB Rocks! radio station (web site) in Palm Springs, California conducted an interview with STONE TEMPLE PILOTS drummer Eric Kretz. The chat can now be streamed using the audio player below.

Kretz recently told the Ventura County Star that there there could be some new music from STONE TEMPLE PILOTS out as early as 2011. He said,, "We're maybe looking at putting out another record next year or touring some more and trying new ideas of how to present music, especially for downloading."

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS have a busy few months ahead before even thinking about entering a studio, though. Kretz said, "We still have a couple of months touring the album here in America. In December, we will be in South America. After all these years we have never been to Australia, so offers are coming in for Australia, New Zealand and Asia, and probably back to Europe. Then we will see."

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS' new self-titled album, sold 62,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart.

"Stone Temple Pilots" marks the sixth top 10 for the band — its entire output of studio albums. Only its greatest hits package "Thank You" missed the top 10 (No. 26 in 2003).

The group's new CD is its first all-new effort since 2001's "Shangri-La-Dee-Da".

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS reunited in 2008 after a six-year layoff.
